Social Butterfly

Today I had the pleasure of meeting Kathy from Cold Climate, her friend Cynthia, along with several Austin Garden Bloggers. We had a fun luncheon at Shady Grove talking about gardening, politics and everything in between. Thanks for including me, ladies!

From left to right: MSS, Diana, Annie, Pam, Kathy and yours truly.

In other news: Last night I had a Princess Themed Bunco Party at my house. All the ladies dressed up like the royalty they are. It really was a riot. Though it's not gardening I just had to show off my little buffet fit for a Queen.

The orchid is marked as 'Phal Happy Smile x Phal I-Hsing Luck' from Smith & Hawken.

Wasn't that lunch fun? I'm so glad you could join us, Dawn.

Your princess party spread looks great. Nice touch with the tiara. ;-)

Doesn't an orchid on the table mean it's a garden post? The tiara topped dessert really does look cool, and I like that little castle in with the wraps.

I'm glad you were able to come, Dawn!

Hi Pam!
The lunch was lovely! Thanks again for including me.

The princess party was an education for me. I don't have a daughter so had to 'import' a whole lot of girly-girl loot to my house. It was a lot of fun.

Hey Annie!
I think you're right. That orchid may just squeak me out of the off-topic zone. Heehee!

It was great to see you again, Annie. We should meet more often since we're practically neighbors.

:-)

You Austin gardeners/bloggers are definitely social butterflies! I admire and sort of envy that you all get together!

This looks like garden post to me: one orchid and a lovely wreath as well. ;-)

What a lovely buffet you made, it's making me hungry by just looking at it.

I'd never heard of Bunco before (I live a very sheltered life :-D) but it sounds like a lot of fun, especially yours with the princess theme and all.

I'd read about the fun that was had by several garden bloggers in Austin recently. It's nice to be able to put a face to a name.

BTW lots of purrs from the Bliss Team to Mariah and Lily!

Dawn, it was great to meet you at the Shady Grove. As far as I know, Bunco isn't popular around here (I first heard of it from a garden blogger in Wisconsin!) but any princess themed party would be so fun. Who wants to wait until you're the mother of the bride/groom to get really dressed up?
